The city of Smyer Board of Aldermen will be holding a regular meeting on Oct. 8 at 6:30 p.m. at the Smyer Senior Citizens’ Building.
The board is expected to take action on ordinances adopting new water rates, new sewer rates and garbage collection rates on second reading.
The board is expected to review Ordinance 1 regarding water wells, Ordinance 3 regarding the fire department and South Plains Electric Coop and Ordinance 4 regarding natural gas. Additionally, alderman are expected to review discus the Landlord Ordinance.
Aldermen are expected to discuss the upkeep, mowing and policy for the Smyer Cemetery; review the Capital Improvement and Comprehensive Plan; and take necessary action on building permits. Reports are expected from the fire department and water/wastewater facilities. Aldermen are expected to approve the financial report.
