St. Paul Lutheran Church (ELCA) in Levelland, introduces “BBR-12”.
“BBR-12” stands for “Bible Based Recovery” “1 hour” every Thursday evening for anyone struggling with alcohol abuse, drug problems, and other addictions and self destructive behaviors, or love someone who does, “2 discuss and fellowship” in a confidential, nondenominational, nonconfrontational meeting with people united in a common faith in Jesus Christ.
Their mission is to bring the hope of Christ to those with even a “mustard seed of faith” and help all of us benefit from a new dimension of faith- the healing dimension.
The only condition for attendance is a desire to stop hurting and to allow God to begin healing BBR-12 utilizes the very same 12 steps that are the foundational core of Alcoholics Anonymous, Al- Anon, Celebrate Recovery, and several other recovery-related entities.
While the gatherings are not affiliated with any other 12-Step Recovery Program their clinical treatment resource, encourage participation in such organizations and methods.
They affirm that the 12 Steps as they are known have undeniable foundation in the passages of the Holy Bible and we are free to acknowledge the authority of God, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit in our lives and how they address challenges with faith and boldness.
Their format is designed to facilitate a “roundtable discussion” exchange of thoughts rather than the traditional monologue-type sharing experience.
The Levelland BBR-12 Group will meet every Thursday at 6 p.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church, located at the intersection of the Sundown Highway and Avenue I (1905 Avenue I) in Levelland.
Updates and information will be posted to St. Paul’s Facebook Page (facebook.com/ StPaulLevelland)
