Elementary students from across Hockley County had a day of hands-on learning at the Hockley County Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Ag Awareness Day, held at Mallet Event Center. Students explored agriculture from the ground up.
They discovered what it takes to be a veterinarian, learned about crops and how cotton travels from the field through the ginning process, and explored the importance of soil and water conservation.
They even learned simple ways they can help conserve water right at home.
Students also got an up-close look at animals, wildlife, and the important roles they play in the ecosystem.
