Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar sent cities, counties, transit systems and special purpose districts $980.9 million in local sales tax allocations for March, 2.2% more than in March 2023.
These allocations are based on sales made in January by businesses that report tax monthly.
Cities received $622.3 million for March allocations which is a 1.7% decrease from March 2023.
Transit Systems received $202/1 million for March allocations which is a 6.3% decrease from March 2023.
Counties received $63.7 million for March allocations which is a 2.5% increase from March 2023.
Special Purpose Districts received $92.8 million for February 2024 allocations which is a 0.4% decrease from March 2023.
The March sales tax payment received for Levelland totaled $356,300.55, an increase of 1.17% over the $352,149.77 received in March 2023.
The current year-to-date payment has totaled roughly $1.19 million which is a 1.70% decrease from the prior year-todate total of $1,211,558.51.
The March sales tax payment received for Sundown totaled $36,781.10, an increase of 68.68% over the $21,804.52 received in March 2023.
The current year-to-date payment has totaled $111,026.03 which is a 1.35% decrease from the prior year-to-date total of $112,546.68. The March sales tax payment received for Smyer totaled $6,718.80, a 39.11% increase over the $4,829.69 received in March 2023.
The current year-to-date payment has totaled $19,054.72 which is a 21.36% increase of the prior year-to-date total of $15,699.97.
The March sales tax payment received for Ropesville totaled $12,486.56, an increase of 40.72% over the $8,872.77 received in March 2023.
The current year-to-date payment has totaled $36,588.59 which is a 8.26% increase from the prior year-to-date total of $33,793.94.
The March sales tax payment received for Anton totaled $10,115.68, a 6.49% increase of the $9,499.11 received in March 2023.
The current year-to-date payment has totaled $28,744.62 which is a 1.68% increase from the prior year-to-date total of $28,298.06.
The March sales tax payment received for Opdyke West totaled $419.70, a 44.54% increase over the $290.36 received in March 2023.
The current year-to-date payment has totaled $1,404.32 which is a 13.14% increase from the prior year-to-date total of $1,241.15.
The March sales tax payment received for Morton totaled $11,433.58, a 16.12% increase over the $9,846.04 received in March 2023.
The current year-to-date payment has totaled $38,880.68 which is a 9.97% increase from the prior year-to-date total of $35,451.75.
The March sales tax payment received for Whiteface totaled $3,053.51, a 28.15% increase over the $2,382.70 received in March 2023.
The current year-to-date payment has totaled $9,171.07 which is a 5.10% increase from the prior year-to-date total of $8,725.82.
