According to a report from the Department of Public Safety, a two-vehicle wreck in Lubbock County resulted in one death, Sunday.
Around 9:20 p.m., a 2018 Peterbilt Module Truck was traveling West on Highway 62, approaching the intersection of FM 789, CR 3800. As the Truck began to turn left onto CR 3800, it stopped with the rear portion of the vehicle still in the eastbound traffic lane.
At that time, a 2007 Nissan Murano was traveling down that eastbound lane of CR 3800, and collided with the module truck. The driver of the truck, Eliopoldo Cazares Nieves, 63, of Lubbock was not injured in the crash, whereas the driver of the Nissan, James Franklin Gillon, 62, of Ralls was pronounced dead on the scene due to injuries sustained.
