Weekly Freshwater Fishing Report

ALANHENRY- FAIR.Water clear; 52 degrees; 10.67 feet blow pool. Despite the high winds last week reports of big crappie biting at the Crappie House on minnows. Report by Bait Kandy Corp.

AMISTAD- GOOD. Water Stained; 25 degrees; 36.79 feet below pool. Bass are fair on Texas rigged senkos, lizards or worms, rattletraps, and jigs in 8-10 feet of water.White Bass and stripers are good around the birds and bait balls in 40-60 feet of water using jiggins spoons, blades, rattletraps or lil George. Catfish are good in 30-60 feet of water on cheese bait, chicken liver and cut shad. Tight lines. Report by Captian Raul Cordero, Far West Guide Service.

ARLINGTON- SLOW.Water lightly stained; 56 degrees; 0.05 feet above pool. Reports of good size bass biting on jerkbaits, umbrella rigs, and crankbaits off points and rocks along the dam. Crappie can be caught of docks with brush. Channel catfish are biting all over the lake.

GRAHAM- SLOW. Water lightly stained; 51 degrees; 4.57 feet below pool. Bass should be moving up for spawn and feeding well. Reaction baits like jerkbaits and spinnerbaits will work great.

LBJ- GOOD. Water stained; 58 degrees; 0.31 feet below pool. Catfish are good in 15-20 feet of open water with punch bait. Crappie are good with live minnows or chartreuse jigs in 410 feet of water over brush piles. Report by Jess Rotherham, Texas Crappies Fishing Service. Bass are good working shallow grass lines in 3-10 feet using wacky rigged worms, Texas rigged worms and creature baits and shallow and medium crankbaits are catching some as well. Water Temperature is rising, so check those spawning areas as well as bedders crusing and looking. You can throw flukes, chatterbaits and spinnerbaits around these areas for some big girls. MEREDITH- SLOW. Water stained; 46-47 degrees; 55.03 feet below pool. Water temperature has begun to climb nicely. March should be a good beginning to an awesomr spring bite, but April, May and June should be phenomenal. Bass are slow on minnows and artificials. Catfish are slow on minnows and frozen shad. Crappie are slow but minnows are still the ticket. White bass are fair on minnows and jig heads with a curly tailed grub. Trout are good on power baits, worms, small spinners and flies. O.H. IVIE- GOOD. Water stained; 58 degrees; 23.65 feet below pool. Largemouth bass are good, with a 14 pound ShareLunker caught. White bass are fair with live bait and crankbaits. Crappie fair with jigs and minnows. Catfish are fair on perpared baits, cut bait and live bait. Report by Concho Park and Marina.

POSSUM KINGDOMGOOD.

Water lightly stained; 5054 degrees; 5.91 feet below pool. Striper fishing is good and using live shad is still the key to catching them. Some can be caught using white, chartreuse, and pink jigs and deadstick techniques. Sand Bass are excellent. Most are being caught using small live shad but some are being caught using white jigs and slabs. Eater size catfish are fair. Most are being caught using cutbait suspended off the bottom or right on the bottom. Water clarity is 3-6 feet depending on location. Report by TJ Ranft, Ranft Guide Service.

PROCTOR- SLOW. Water stained; 55 degrees; 9.19 feet below pool. Reports of blue catfish biting slow near ledges in 14-18 feet of water using live and cut bait. Report by Jeffery Sojourner, Sojourner Fishing LLC.

STAMFORD- SLOW. Water stained; 51 degrees; 4.64 feet below pool. Fishing continues to be slow for all species. Best success continues to be near the Crappie House. Report by Anchor Marina.

TWIN BUTTES- GOOD. Water stained. 57 degrees; 22.68 feet below pool. Prime water temperature for crappie. Crappie are biting smaller minnows in 8-12 feet of water, believe it or not but some fish are sill suspended in deep water. White bass are running in the river biting on ant type of small shiny spinnerbaits. Catfish are moving shallow 2-4 feet of water prepared baits, and nightcrawlers. WHITE RIVER- SLOW. Water stained; 57 degrees; 24.38 feet below pool. Reports of crappie and bass catches being caught off piers. As the water warms, look for bass to being to stage for the prespawn. Through Texas rigged worms or craw patterned altricials.
