Widow of Veteran receives new roof

Sharon Ramsey, wife of late U.S. Army veteran, Jack Ramsey, is the recipient of a new roof thanks to the Owens Corning Roof Deployment Project.

The Owens Corning Roof Deployment Project is a nationwide effort to show gratitude and honor the veterans who served the country and the families who support them.

Since the inception of this program in 2016, more than 575 military members have received new roofs.

In partnership with Owen Corning, Purple Heart Homes and Andrus Roofing Brothers worked together to provide the new roof. The Owen Corning Roof Deployment Project provided the materials for the roof while Andrus Brothers Roofing provided the labor.

An Andrus roofing crew was on hand Tuesday morning working on replacing the roof for Ramsey.

To apply for the project program, individuals can visit the Owens Corning website.

Owens Corning has partnered with Habitat for Humanity to help qualify veterans for the Owens Corning Roof Deployment Project.

If individuals are unable to connect with their local affiliate or have additional aquestions, please email at roofdeployment@owenscorning.com.

Habitat requires an application and qualification through their system and once that occurs, Owen Corning can reach out to their Platinum Preferred Contractor network to see if they are available to participate.

A nomination is just that. They will review every nomination they receive. Unfortunately, they cannot guarantee or promise beyond that. There are several factors that determine whether a potential Roof Deployment Project candidate’s home will receive a new roof.
