Run the Mosaics event on June 13

The Birdsong Memorial Mosaic Run honoring Bobby Birdsong will be held on June 13. It includes a 10 K run, 2mile walk/run and kids 1 mile.The run is hosted by West Texas Running Club.The 10K run has a 7:30 a.m. start, with the 2-mile starting at 7:33 a.m., and the kids run at 9 a.m. at 607 Ave. G.

SCOTUS allows abortion pill to be mailed

The Supreme Court stayed a May 1 ruling from the New Orleans-based, U.S. 5th Circuit Court of Appeals which would have banned mifepristone from being mailed.The appeals court ruling would have applied to the entire country, not just states like Louisiana that have abortion bans.

SPC to host arts camp July 6-9

Kids ages 5 to 17 are invited to participate in South Plains College’s Explore the Arts Camp from July 6–9 on the Levelland campus.Hands-on activities will take place in different parts of the Creative Arts and Fine Arts Buildings.

 LHS Theater students performed “The Insanity of Mary Girard” by Lanie Robertson this past week. Students portray a brilliant young woman with a love for music and poetry, who suddenly became withdrawn, along with ghosts that help reveal secrets.
