Levelland Police Report

Nov. 128:31a.m. – Officer responded to the 100 block of E. Jefferson in reference to welfare check.8:42 a.m. – Officer responded to the 300 block of 10th Street regarding a burglary in progress. Report was taken.2 p.m.

Levelland Fire Dept. Report

Nov. 11Fire Department Engine 8 was dispatched to a motor vehicle accident in the 200 block of W. Hwy 114. Levelland EMS was also dispatched. Upon arrival, patient involved with mva was self-extricated and ambulatory and was with EMS personnel.

Hockley County Court Report

Hockley County Court Report 289th District CourtState vs. Amanda Turner, charged with driving while intoxicated >;=.15. Violated probation. Original petition 180 days confinement, probation one year, Fine $1,000, court costs $470, court appointed attorney $200.

Atmos toy drive underway

Atmos Energy will be holding a toy drive through Dec. 10.Donations of new, unopened toys are being gathered for youth ages 0 to 17 years old.The drop-off location is Atmos Energy at 1415 E. Hwy 114 behind Levelland Chevrolet and the Car Wash. Drop-off hours are 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Sheriff’s Office Report

Oct. 27Deputies opened call sheet with dispatch in reference to prohibited substance in the 1300 block of Ave. H.Oct. 29Firearm was given to the Hockley County Sheriff’s for safekeeping.Oct. 30Deputies met with a complainant at the 1300 block of Ave H in regards to a theft that had already occurred.

Sheriff’s Office issues scam alert

The Hockley County Sheriff’s Office received a report of someone going by a residence on N. Hwy 385 claiming to be a code enforcement officer and requesting to do an inspection.The subject was described a black male, middle aged, bald, beard with grey hair and approximately 6’2.

Bill’s Backpacks sets December food item

Bill’s Backpack of Levelland continues to take food and monetary donations to stock the pantry prior to Thanksfiving and Christmas break Food item for the month of December will be pudding cups.
