FAA lifts order slashing flights

With holiday traffic looming, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) announced it lifted all restrictions on commercial flights that were previously imposed at 40 major airports during the government shutdown. Airlines can resume their regular flight schedules beginning Monday.

LISD school board to hold regular meeting

The Levelland ISD school board will be holding both a special and regular meeting on Nov. 19.The special meeting is the Superintendent Evaluation Workshop that begins at 5 p.m.; the regular meeting will begin at 6 p.m.

Levelland Fire Dept. Report

Nov. 4Fire Department responded to the 4900 block of Iowa regarding a grass fire on the side of the road. Firefighters located a burned patch of grass and soaked the area and returned to the station.Nov.

City of Levelland October Building Permits

The City of Levelland had a total of 21 building permits last month, according to the October report issued by the city. There was one business permit, two certificates of occupancy and 18 residential, signs, and others. Thus far, the total number of permits for 2025 is 281.

Buddy Holly crosswalk art to be removed

Lubbock city leaders learned were informed at the recent city council meeting that the iconic Buddy Holly crosswalks must be removed to comply with state and federal law to follow a directive from Gov. Greg Abbott regarding all decorative markings statewide.
