Each year South Plains College Biology department captures, tags, and releases monarch butterflies as they make their annual fall migration. Mark Lee ‘s Zoology class led the initiative this year. Monarchs roost in pines as they migrate making the front lawn of SPC an excellent place to log data during the Monarch Watch and tagging the monarchs helps show the pathways and journey. LISD board hears reports, approves purchases

The Levelland ISD Board of Education met on Oct. 16 to hear take action on reports, proposals, and bids.The board approved the financial report for the period ending on Sept. 30 presented by Teresa Montemeyer, LISD chief financial officer.
