Levelland Breakfast Rotary Club plans taco dinner

The Levelland Breakfast Rotary Club will host a taco plate dinner during the Levelland Loboettes and Lobos vs. Big Spring varsity basketball games on Jan. 14 in the High School Commons.The “walking tacos” plate dinners will be served from 5:30 – 8:30 p.m.
NJHS GIVES BACK-- NJHS members and Chair Patricia Johnson were honored at LMS Friday for raising $1,654 to help LMS Families during the holiday. The National Junior Honor Society teaches members to give back to those in need. Texas labor market expands, civilian labor exceeds 15.5 million

Texas’ civilian labor force achieved another new record high in November. In addition, Texas’ seasonally adjusted total nonfarm employment increased to 14,286,700 after 9,100 jobs were added over the month. Texas added 274,300 jobs from November 2023 to November 2024.

Local January sales tax allocations

Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar will distribute $1.1 billion in local sales tax allocations for January, which is a 0.3% increase from January 2024’s total allocations.Cities received $697.1 million in allocations for a 0.3% decrease from January 2024. It is a 0.3% year-to-date decrease.
