Construction continues at the Wallace Theater as new windows have been installed this past week. Efforts were made to repair the orginial windows which had been in place for nearly 100 years, but were beyond repair. Pictured are crews from Advantage Glass installing the new windows.

Comptroller announces monthly sales tax revenue

Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar announced state sales tax revenue totaled $4.3 billion in November, 4.7 percent more than in November 2023.The majority of November sales tax revenue is based on sales made in October and remitted to the agency in November.

Xcel increases wildfire detection efforts

Xcel Energy is increasing its wildfire detection and mitigation efforts in the Texas Panhandle by introducing artificial intelligence to spot fires early.The company is partnering with Pano AI to install more than 50 camera stations across the region.

SPCAA announces CACFP policy

South Plains Community Action Association (SPCAA) announced their policy for free, and reduced priced meals served under the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP).Each facility and SPCAA have a copy of the policy, which anyone may review.

SPC hosts commencement Dec. 13

South Plains College will host its fall commencement ceremony at 10:30 a.m. on Dec. 13 in the Texan Dome on the Levelland campus.This semester, 541 students applied for graduation, and 258 students will participate in the ceremony.
