Governor Abbott adds six counties to state disaster declaration list

On Thursday, Governor Greg Abbott announced that he added six counties to the state’s disaster declaration for Texas communities impacted by recent severe weather that began on April 26 and remains ongoing.The counties added include Bailey, Bowie, Cass, Midland, Red River, and Terrell counties.

Comptroller shares May sales tax revenue

Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar announced the state sales tax revenue totaled $4.01 billion in May, 4.5 percent more than in May 2023.The majority of May sales tax revenue is based on sales made in April and remitted to the agency in May.
