SPC student to attend national MANRRS conference

South Plains College student Jaden Bobo will attend the national Minorities in Agriculture, Natural Resources and Related Sciences (MANRRS) conference taking place from March 20-24 in Chicago, Illinois.

Hockley County SWCD taking orders for windbreaks

Hockley County Soil and Water Conservation District is taking orders for windbreak, shade and fruit trees. The order deadline is March 5, 2024. Residents are encouraged to order early as supplies are limited and will be filled on a first come serve basis.

LISD announces campus closures Mar. 11 -15

Levelland ISD wants to remind parents that all campuses will be have an early out next Friday, March 8 for spring break. Spring break will be the week of March 11 thru March 15 Classes will resume on Monday March 18 at regualr time.

Hockley County Extension offering free booster seat event March 7

The Hockley County Extension office will host a free booster seat event Thursday, March 7, from 4:30 p.m. – 9 p.m. at the Levelland ABC cafeteria. Parents of first grade through third grade students are invited to come out and learn the proper timeline, usage and installation of booster seats.

SPC Groove Day featuring John JR Robinson slated April 6

The South Plains College Commercial Music Department will host its second-annual Groove Day, featuring the world’s most recorded drummer, John JR Robinson. The event will begin at 10 a.m. on April 6 at the Tom T. Hall Production Studio in the Creative Arts Building on campus.

Donations directed toward Panhandle relief

Donations of hay, feed, fencing supplies, cow feed and milk replacer are needed to support livestock owners impacted by the devastating wildfires that have scorched ranchland across a large portion of the Texas Panhandle.
