Chairman Ken King announces reelection desire, shares aspirations

Chairman Ken King recently announced he intends to run for the seat he currently holds representing 19 counties in the Texas Panhandle, South Plains, and the Permian Basin.

11/4/2023 - 100 block of House Street - 11:25 A.M. Officers with the LPD received a radio call regarding a stolen motor vehicle within the area. Upon further investigation, a male suspect was identified and the motor vehicle was not located at the time. 11/3/2023 - 1400 block of S.

HCSO Report

11/3/2023 - 300 block of E. Cameron - LEVELLAND Deputies with the HCSO responded to a residence within the area due to an unresponsive individual. 11/3/2023 - 2000 block of Avenue S - LEVELLAND Deputies with the HCSO were dispatched to an alarm going off in the area.

LFD Report

11/7/2023 - DISPATCHED 8:28 P.M. - CLEARED 8:45 P.M. LEVELLAND The LFD received reports of smoke in the area of 10th Street and Avenue H. Upon arrival, fire personnel were unable to locate any possible locations. After scanning the area, the fire crew returned to the station.

DPS joins CCTA statewide exercise

During the end of October, the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) joined with federal, state and local partners for the 2023 Texas Statewide Complex Coordinated Terrorist Attack (CCTA) Full-Scale Exercise.

March primary filing opens November 11

Filing for the March primary will open Saturday, November 11. Republican County Chariman Pat Cowan will be at the Elections Administrative Office Monday, November 13, from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. for those wishing to file for office in the primary election. The deadline to file is December 11, 2023.

Texas Comptroller announces sales tax revenues

Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar announced state sales tax revenue totaled $3.81 billion in October, down 0.3 percent from October 2022. The majority of October sales tax revenue is based on sales made in September and remitted to the agency in October.

ROAD CONSTRUCTION

Road construction on Avenue H and Houston began Nov. 3 with businesses within the closed off area being able to operate as normal. The roadway was opened during this past weekend allowing for through traffic to operate as normal.
