The City of Levelland Planning and Zoning Commission will hold its regular meeting on Jan. 20 at 6 p.m.The commission is expected to consider and recommend rezoning CR 838 from SF-2 to B-2 Zone. Upon recommendation, the rezoning willbe taken to the Levelland City Council for approval.

Anthrax confirmed near Silverton

The Texas Animal Health Commission (TAHC) confirmed anthrax in a Briscoe County steer in late December.The infected animal was on now-quarantined property 4 miles north of Silverton.The disease can infect humans and animals and has been found in the Panhandle before, but it is more common downstate.
