LISD board meeting set for Dec. 17

The Levelland ISD board of trustees will be holding their regular board meeting on Dec. 17 at 6 p.m.The first business of order is expected to be a public hearing on the FIRST Rating which is the state’s school financial accountability rating system.

State unemployment rises slightly

The unemployment rate in Texas, as last reported in September, is 4.1, a change of - 0.1% since last year in the same period. Reports have been slow following the government shutdown.

Circle of Friends celebrate 25 years

An amazing journey began in 2000 with three ladies in one community – Debra Frankin, Glenda Jones and Charlene Smith – with an idea to bring all the ladies together as a whole.It began with the first Christmas party at the home of Jones and the next at Smith’s.

Nov. 20Fire Department dispatched to the 800 block of Ave H in regards to a smoke detector that had gone off for 30=40 minutes in an unknown apartment. Area was checked and no alarm was found, smoke or indication of fire. Scene was cleared and responders returned to the station.
