The Levelland Loboettes season comes to an end in the Area Round of the playoffs with a loss to the Decatur Lady Eagles 58-26 in Stamford.
The first quarter of the game was close for the Loboettes as they were able to keep up with the Lady Eagles with the score sitting at 9-7, Decatur leading going into the second quarter.
For the second quarter of the game, Levelland still would trail after being outscored 18-11, making the score 27-18, going into the halftime break.
In the third quarter of the contest is where things got out of hand for the Loboettes as Decatur was able to find their rythme on offense outscoring Levelland 264, taking a huge lead going into the fourth quarter of the game.
For the final quarter of the game, Decatur burned a lot of the clock as they won the quarter 104, ending Levelland’s season with an overall record of 26-7 on the year.
Leading the Loboettes in scoring on the night was Leilani Sanchez with seven points. Emery Smith and Sydnii Joyce both had six points a piece, Presley Smith had five and two Loboettes finished with one point a piece in Kaylee Penner and Destynii Jones.
Levelland shot the ball for 14% from the field while going 21% from the three-pointer range and 56% from the free-throw line.
Levelland was outrebounded by the Lady Eagles 34-to-20 and gave up 19 turnovers while forcing another 14 of their own in the contest.
The Loboettes finish their season with a record of 26-7 on the season with a second place finish in district and Bi-District Champions. The team will lose out on Seniors Mia Morin, Emily Perez, Kaylee Penner, Leilani Sanchez and Emery Smith.
