Whiteface Antelopes are Bi-District Champs

The Whiteface Antelopes took on the Fort Hancock Mustangs this past Tuesday night for the team’s Bi-District Round where the Antelopes won 64-24 in a blowout.

The first quarter, the Antelopes were in complete control as they outscored the Mustangs 17-5, heading into the second quarter of the game.

For the second quarter the Antelopes didn’t slow down as they got another 20 points to fall for them while their defense held the Mustangs to just nine points, making the score 37-14 heading into the halftime break.

Leading the Antelopes in scoring at the half was Isaak Soliz with 11 points, nine of them coming from the first quarter of play.

The third quarter was more of the same story from the rest of the game as they outscored Fort Hancock 14-5 in the third quarter and 13-5 in the fourth, taking the Bi-District win and moving on in the playoffs.

Soliz led the Antelopes in scoring in their contest with 22 points, getting nine of his points from outside the arch. Cesar Chavez had 12 points, Ethan Kauffman had eight, Jeremiah Rendon had six, Auscar Gandara and Ivaniel Gandara both had four points a piece, Jaxon Hodge and Andres Guardiola had three points a piece and Victor Borunda finished with two points.

Whiteface shot the ball well going for 38% from the field while Fort Hancock went for 16% from the field.

The Whiteface Antelope progress to 12-5 on the season as they played against the Miles Bulldogs for the Area Round of playoffs in Snyder this past Friday as the visiting team.
