Zeth Lopez is a first year intern at the Burkhart Center and a 2024 graduate from Levelland High School. The Texas Tech Burkhart Transition Academy helps to meet the needs of young adults diagnosed with autism who aspire to be employed. Interns complete an 18 month non-residential program with an emphasis on improving their skills in employment, life and community. Interns attend vocational classes and get paid to work at the Burkhart Center. The Burkhart Center also works with community partners to help place them in different jobs according to their set skills.
