Mary Castillo Ruiz and Alfonso Ruiz celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Saturday, April 19, 2025 at The Venue in Lubbock, Texas.
The event was hosted by their children Chirs and Evonne Ruiz, Beau and Daisy Ruiz and Matt Ruiz. Eric LaMascus, the husband of their eldest granddaughter Leandra LaMascus, delivered a blessing. Music throughout the evening was provided by Steve Valderas and DJ Lopez. Tables were decurted with a tall gold tower with crystal chandelier, wrapped with gold leaf lights and topped with red roses accompanied by gold votive candles, a 4 x 6 clear gold picture framed that featured pictures of the couple. A four-tier chocolate and French vanilla cake with gold trim, red roses, and a picture of Mr. & Mrs. Ruiz on their wedding day.
Deacon Cavazos of St. Michael’s Church married the couple on April 19, 1975. The couple have ten grandchildren and four great grandchildren and currently reside in Levelland. Alfonso currently works for Hilcorp and Mary is a housewife.
