Recapping the Pack’s fall season

The Levelland Tennis Pack concluded their varsity fall season earlier this month, finishing with an 8-9 overall record.

While that wasn’t good enough to reach the playoffs, the Pack can still be proud of their season that was full of record-breaking performances and numerous wins.

It may not have been everything that Levelland Tennis Head Coach Jeff Braziel wanted, but he can still reflect on the fall season with pride.

“This fall season was more than just wins and records — it was a testament to our team’s resilience, growth and commitment to excellence,” Braziel said. “From breaking into the century club to setting new class milestones, every athlete played a part in something bigger than themselves. The future is bright, and this team is just getting started.”

It will be exciting to see what this team has in store in the future but first let’s take a second to reflect on their fall season, starting with the aforementioned century club achievements.

Seniors Zackary Lopez and Daisy Perez both eclipsed 100 individual career wins in their play this fall as Lopez finished with 105 and Perez finished right at 100.

Senior Nathan Ellis took it a step even further and passed the 150 individual career wins mark this season and he now sits at 155, which is 3rd alltime for Levelland tennis.

Along with those three, William Canon, Marc Muniz, Hayden Ewings and Brady Houston were a part of the Levelland senior tennis class that surpassed 1,000 individual career wins.

They ended the season with 1,043 wins after securing 191 wins this fall season.

Those 191 were a big chunk of the team’s 325 total individual wins, an impressive feat.

Another noteworthy stat is the season records for each athlete as not one varsity player for the Pack finished the season with a losing record.

Marc Muniz led the Pack boys in wins with a 28-3 record and freshman Isabel Canales led the Pack girls in wins with a 20-5 record.

Other records included junior Diego Franco at 268, Nathan Ellis at 22-12, Daniela Perez-Garcia at 1816, Hayden Ewings at 229, William Canon at 19-9, junior Reese Payton at 2013, Daisy Perez at 17-17, freshman Angelina Rivera at 15-11, sophomore Kimberly Campos at 13-6 and Brady Houston and Zackary Lopez both went 19-15.

All these athletes represented Levelland well with countless wins and record-breaking performances but shout out to Coach Braziel for leading them to so much success.

He not only led them to benchmarks but also hit his own this season, earning his 100th career team win with Levelland.

The program is up and coming, which is in large part due to his coaching efforts.

It will be exciting to see what he and his athletes can do in the upcoming season, which begins Jan. 30, 2026, at the Hub City Invitational Tournament in Lubbock.

In the upcoming season, Brady Houston and Reese Payton will have the opportunity to reach the 100 individual career wins mark.

Houston has 94 and Payton has 92, so it will only be a matter of time once the season starts.

But until then, the Pack get a well-deserved break from competition.
