Earlier in October, the Ropesville Volunteer Fire Department faced a significant challenge when its sole fire engine was unexpectedly removed from service due to a catastrophic mechanical failure during a fire response.
In a swift and effective effort to maintain emergency response capabilities, the department acquired a large brush truck/water tender within days. This new apparatus was placed into service immediately, responding to its first call the day after delivery and continuing to support the community with at least one response per week since joining the fleet.
This critical purchase was made possible through the generous support of the FMH Foundation. Established in 2011 by Florence Marie Hall, the FMH Foundation is a private philanthropic organization based in West Texas. Its mission is “to further a vision toward a reality,” with a focus on fostering collaboration, innovation, creativity, excellence, and development.
The Foundation primarily supports charitable organizations throughout the Permian Basin, with grantmaking efforts concentrated in healthcare, visual and performing arts, and community and cultural initiatives.
Thanks to the FMH Foundation’s contribution, the Ropesville Volunteer Fire Department continues to serve its community with resilience, dedication, and enhanced capabilities.
