Graveside services set for Lora (Heflin) Torxell

Lora Bell (Heflin) Torxell, age 87, was welcomed into the gates of Heaven on Apr. 11, 2026. She was born on March 26, 1939, to William Green Heflin Sr. and Neomi Juanita Chaney. Lora grew up and attended school in Morton, Texas. At a young age, she accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior and was baptized at First Baptist Church in Morton. She was well loved by her family and was known for her caring, loving, generous and honest nature. Lora was stylish, spunky, classy and was never afraid to speak her mind. Her vibrant personality left a lasting impression on everyone she met. Lora was a hardworking and dedicated woman owning and operating a hair salon in Kirtland, NM for many years. She also served her community by driving a school bus for Bloomfield ISD in Bloomfield NM. Many summers were spent custom harvesting throughout the U.S. for the family business.

She was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother lovingly known as “Nanny,” Lora was preceded in death by her parents; sisters Wilna Dolle, Billie Raether, Wanda Reeves, Carolyn (Tiny) Womack and Cletha (Maxine) Hudgins; her brothers, Wilson Heflin and William G Heflin Jr; her former husband, Darrell Dobson Sr. and her husband Doyle Troxell.

She is survived by her four children; Tanya(Anthony) Lucero of Farmington, NM, Lisa(Kenny) Hazzard of Farmington, NM, Darrell (Bel) Dobson of Morton and Jimmie (Rhonda) Dobson of Bloomfield, NM. She is also survived by her beloved grandchildren, greatgrandchildren and her sister Doris Ann Taylor.

Graveside services will be held at the Morton Memorial Cemetery on Friday, May 29, 2026 at 11:00am in Morton, Tx.
