This honor was bestowed on Levelland’s Main Street after careful evaluations conducted by Accredited Main Street America’s personnel and board of directors, as well as the Texas Historical Commission, which functions as a partner to Main Street America. Together, they identify local programs that meet rigorous national community evaluation standards.
Main Street America distinguishes between two tiers of national designation - Accredited and Affiliate. Levelland, as stated, has earned an Accredited, the higher designation tier. To qualify for this status, communities must demonstrate a proven track record of achieving outcomes aligned with the Main Street Approach and exceptional performance in multiple areas.
“Receiving the 2026 Accredited designation reflects the dedication of our volunteers, businesses, board members, and community partners who continue working together to strengthen Downtown Levelland,” said the Main Street Board Manager, Kelly Hancock. “We are proud of the progress made in 2025 and excited to continue building a downtown destination for residents and visitors alike.”
