Rogelio 'Roy' Ramon, 74, of Levelland went to be with the Lord, our Savior, surrounded by his loved ones on Friday, May 22, 2026.

Roy deeply loved his family and friends and cherished every moment spent together. His eyes would light up, and his beautiful smile would shine whenever he heard from loved ones - especially those from out of town. He enjoyed reminiscing with his close friends, including Gilbert, J.P., CJ, Duane, Frank, Roy Gomez, and countless others.

If you knew Roy, you knew how much he admired John Wayne. He proudly shared his 'John Wayne room' with anyone who visited. Roy also enjoyed traveling, watching westerns and working outdoors in his yard alongside his 'Honey Bunny.' He was a true car enthusiast and took pride in his vehicles.

Roy grew up in Rio Grande City, Texas, and later married the love of his life, Yolanda, on Aug. 15, 1998.

Roy was affectionately known by many names H.B. ('Honey Bunny'), Big Roy, Papa, Daddy and Grandpa.

He began his career in the oil field with Amoco in 1984, after moving to Levelland from Beeville. He continued his career when the company, Altura, later became Oxy Permian, where he worked as a lead operator until his retirement in 2009 due to health reasons. His dedication and loyalty turned coworkers into lifelong family.

Roy will be remembered as a faithful servant of the Lord - a kind and gentle man with a heart of gold.

He was preceded in death by his beloved daughter, Kimberly; his parents, Lutano and Santos Ramon; his brother, Abel; his mother-in-law, Rosa; and many other cherished family members.

He is survived by his loving spouse, Yolanda; his daughter, Lizette Serenil; and his son, Michael Suniga (Amanda). He also leaves behind his grandchildren, Vanessa Quintanilla Martinez, Rhea Lynn Alvarado (Christian), Mason Suniga, and Kinsley Suniga; and his great-grandchildren, Isiah Quintanilla, Elijah Martinez and Vivian Alvarado. Roy is also survived by his brother, Chema (Sonia), and his sisters, Belinda and Gloria, all of Rio Grand City, Texas.

Visitation took place at Krestridge Funeral Home on Thursday, May 28, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 p.m. the reading of the Holy Rosary began at 6:00 p.m. Funeral Service was held at St. Michael's Catholic Church on Friday, May 29, beginning at 11:00 AM. Interment followed in the City of Levelland Cemetery.
