The Hockley County Jail successfully passed its annual jail inspection reflecting hard work, professionalism, and dedication of the detention officers, support personnel, supervisors and administration who play a role in maintaining a safe, secure, and well-operated facility. During the annual inspection, numerous areas of jail operations are reviewed, including records management, inmate classifications, kitchen operations, operational plans, commissary procedures, health permits, prior inspection compliance, fire inspections, disciplinary records, daily population reports, fire prevention checklists, search logs, sanitation logs, inmate files, visitation logs, recreation logs, security checks, the facility's fire panel system and more. Inspectors also review training records to ensure staff members are completing required training and continuing education courses necessary to meet state standards and provide professional service.
