The Levelland Breakfast Rotary Club is searching for local and area talent to stage the first Levelland’s Got Talent variety show in partnership with the Wallace Theater in Levelland.
The talent show will be held Saturday, Oct. 3 in conjunction with the Falling for the Wallace Festival that will take place in downtown Levelland. Doors will open at 7 p.m. with the show beginning at 7:30 p.m.
“Right now, we are issuing a call for contestants to perform in the show,” said Irene Tienda, president of the Levelland Breakfast Rotary Club. “There is amazing talent in our community, and this will be an opportunity for rising stars to showcase their skills at the historic Wallace Theater.”
Acts that are accepted to perform at Levelland’s Got Talent will be rated by a panel of judges and cash prizes of $250, $150, $100 will be awarded to the top three acts.
Tienda said that talent can include vocal performance, instrumental performance, dance, comedy, magic/illusion, a variety act or any talent an individual feels is performance worthy. Potential contestants must complete an official entry form and submit a twominute audition video by the entry deadline of Sept. 18. All entries and audition videos will be screened by a selection panel, and finalists will be notified of their selection to prepare for the show. Contestants selected to perform Oct. 3 must pay a $25 entry fee.
Entry forms may be requested by emailing levellandrotaryflags@gmail.com, downloaded online at https:/ /www.wallacetheater.com/ or may be picked up at the Wallace Theater at 823 Houston St. during business hours Tuesday to Friday from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. Information, rules, release agreement and how to submit the required twominute audition video can be found on the entry forms.
Admission to the Levelland’s Got Talent performance will be $20 per person and, tickets will be made available in early September. Seating will be limited.
“We are planning a fun, family-oriented event that we hope will become a yearly favorite for the Levelland community,” said Tienda. “Proceeds from Levelland’s Got Talent will help fund our Rotary Club service projects, including scholarships to attend South Plains College.”
