Sixmanfootball.com released the preseason rankings for Division 1and 2 six-man football with a local team in the top two as well as another in the top 30 for D1.
The Whiteface Antelopes begin their season ranked No. 2 with a 356.71 rating behind Gordon who has a 358.59 rating.
Last year, Whiteface went 10-3 and were undefeated in their district. The Antelopes took a trip to the playoffs and made it to the quarterfinal round where they lost to Rankin 82-38. The team will be looking for another playoff berth and hope to go even deeper in the 2026 season.
Whiteface will travel to face Bryson for their first game on Aug. 28 Whitharral is ranked No. 29 with a rating of 285.69. The Panthers are ranked above Springlake- Earth who came in at No. 30 with a 280.92.
In 2025, Whitharral were undefeated in their district and went 9-1 for the season, but lost the first round in the playoffs to Sands 82-48.
The Panthers will kick off their season off Aug. 29 at home against Westbrook.
Vying for a top slot in the same district as Whiteface and Whitharral, the Springlake- Earth Wolverines and Nazareth Swifts will be strong competitors in 1A Division 1 District 2. Nazareth is ranked No. 10 with a 317.24 rating.
In D2, the Anton Bulldogs are ranked No. 55 with a rating of 160.37.
Anton went 3-6 overall and 1-2 in their district. The Bulldogs will kick their season off on Aug. 28 at Southland.
Whiteface head coach Jeff Jones commented that it was “flattering, for sure, but [the team] still has to work hard to reach their goals.”
Jay Kelly, Whiteface Radio and KLVT Sports Radio stringer, comented that “you always have to take the rankings with a grain of salt.”
