Levelland High School athletics held its “Meet the Lobos” event this past Friday at HCCU Stadium.
Events got underway with Hockley County Credit Union, Russell and Angie Vest joined by HCCU employees for the official ribbon cutting for the Hockley County Credit Union Stadium. Earlier in the year, HCCU partnered with Levelland ISD to fund a $500,000 field turf replacement for the district’s football stadium. In exchange for this corporate investment and naming rights agreement, Lobo Stadium was officially renamed for a 10-year period. Following a prayer and the national anthem, athletes and teams were introduced for football, volleyball, tennis, cross country and golf, along with the band, who performed several music selections throughout the event.
The Lobo Marching band made their way across the field with introductions of the section leaders which included Rosa Servin, flutes, Jesse Reyes, clarinets, Raily Peance, saxophones, Zoey Zuniga, trumpets, Cerys Lewis, mellophones, Melodie Demel, Victor Gutierrez, tubas, Reese Payton, percussion, and Breanna Garza, color guard. Drum majors are Rylee Adams and Uriah Arenizas.
