The Smyer Lady Cats topped the visiting Wilson Mustangs volleyball squad in Tuesday’s nonleague test. Everything went went their way against the Mustangs as they made off with a 3-0 win.
The score doesn’t show just how dominant Smyer was: they took every set by at least 13 points. The final set scores came out to 2512, 25-9, 25-10.
Leading Smyer to victory were Kathryn Brown and Rylee Cooper. Brown had 12 aces, while Cooper had nine kills and six aces. Another player making a difference was Adi Vega, who had five aces.
Overall, the Lady Cats came through with 25 kills, 28 serving aces, four digs and 22 assists. Smyer’s victory bumped their record up to 4-2.
Smyer will square off against Kingdom Prep Academy at 4 p.m. on Friday.
