ANOTHER DAY WITH DOM!

It was a fun and long weekend for our staff with the

Cotton & Crude Festival.

It was great seeing the countless smiles from the festival events all the way through the

Unfortunately, I was unable to make last year’s Cotton & Crude Festival, but from the conversations I had throughout the day and into the new week, a lot of people were impressed and

Walking around chatting with all the different parade entries before it began, I could feel a genuine excitement a good bit of pride to celebrate the community. I was able to sit down and chat with different age groups ranging from our senior citizens to our high school students and children. The feeling I got was this was something that can be fun for everyone while keeping in mind everyone who is important to the community, which is everyone.

As a staff, we walked downtown many times Saturday and we hope everyone enjoys the photos we got to take.

It was nice seeing familiar faces and shaking hands with new ones. From my understanding, there were not as many vendors as the year prior. However, after walking the courthouse, it was great to see all the vendors having business throughout the morning into the afternoon. I hope all the brick and motar stores located within downtown were able to receive some business throughouth the day.

There are a lot of great stores in the area and being able to have them available for these big events can only help local and small businesses. Nothing is perfect and I am sure there are a hand few that may have different opinions about Cotton & Crude, but I know the Levelland Chamber of Commerce would be thrilled to hear constructive criticism or how well the event was. That group puts in an insane amount of time getting an event like this prepared. I think they did a great job and I look forward to year three with Cotton & Crude.
