Then Elisha said, “Hear the word of the Lord. Thus says the Lord: ‘Tomorrow about this time a seah of fine flour shall be sold for a shekel, and two seahs of barley for a shekel, at the gate of Samaria.’ 2 Kings 7:1 Samaria was desperately in trouble in 2 Kings 6-7, Ben-Hadad the king of Syria gathered all his army and surrounded the walls of the city. In Bible times, one of the preferred methods of war was to surround the walled cities and restrict people and food from coming and going from the city they wanted to conquer. This method was successful in that there was not massive fighting and bloodshed. After a time, the city would run out of food and sometimes water, and the king of the city would eventually open the gates and accept defeat to keep the people from starving to death. The famine in Samaria was so great that people were eating donkey’s head and dove droppings to keep from starving to death. As the king walked around the city walls, a woman cried out to him for help. The woman and her friend agreed to boil her son and eat him on one day and then they would boil the friends son the next day and eat him. (I wonder how much Baal worship was going on in that city that they would even consider eating a child, much less her own son) The woman boiled her son and shared his flesh with the other woman, but when it came time to boil her friends son, she hid him and would not fulfil her agreement. The woman had no regard that they had killed and eaten her son; she was just angry she did not have another child to eat. This grieved the king, and he tore his clothes and walked around in sackcloth and ashes. Like most people, the king had to blame someone for the state his city was in instead of seeking God to find a solution. He blamed Elisha for the siege on the city and he commanded for the servants to cut off the head of Elisha. God warned Elisha to shut the door on the king’s messenger. Sadly, the king blamed God for all his misery, “All this misery is from the Lord! Why should I wait for the Lord any longer?” (Have you ever felt this way?)

God gave Elisha a message from the Lord, a prophecy, “At this same time tomorrow, in the markets of Samaria six quarts of choice flour will cost only one piece of silver, and twelve quarts of barley grain will cost only one piece of silver” NLT At twilight, when it was dark, four men with leprosy who were shut out of the gates of Samaria reasoned among themselves. “Why should we sit here till we die?” “We will starve if we stay here, but with the famine in the city we will starve if we go back there. So, we might as well go out and surrender to the Armenian Army. If they let us live, so much the better, but if they kill us, we would have died anyway.” As the four men with leprosy approached the Syrians camp, they found it deserted. According to the bible, God caused the Syrians to hear the clattering of chariots, the sound of horses running and marching sound of armies approaching. The Syrians took off running for their lives and left everything behind. The four men with leprosy went into a tent and ate all they wanted. They took silver, gold and garments and buried them. As they set there enjoying the moment of success, they decided the people in Samaria needed to share in the abundance The four men went back to Samaria and told the gatekeeper what they had found at the Syrian camp. Just as the word of the Lord from Elisha, six quarts of choice flour sold for a piece of the city, came to pass.

Our world is under siege, evil governments are trying to force people to accept a global reset in the governments. They tried to keep us locked down in our homes and restrict our movements, but it did not work in the United States of America. We are still seeing supplies harder to come by and the price of everything has increased dramatically. There is a sense of lawlessness that permeated many states. With the natural eye, it looks like the Christians and the Patriots have lost the battle with the darkness of sin that seems to have taken over our beloved nation and each day there are more laws and executive orders that are contradictory to our Constitution and our American beliefs and values.

Do not let the darkness overwhelm you. God does His best work in the dark! Just like God used the darkness and sounds to cause the Syrian army to flee, He still moves mightily in the darkness. Genesis 1 tells us that God works in the darkness, The evening and the morning were the first day, When God came down to meet with the Israelites at Mount Sinai there was darkness. Deuteronomy 4:11. Psalms 94:1-2 “The Lord reigns, let the earth rejoice, let the multitude of the isles be glad! Clouds and darkness surround Him, righteousness and justice are the foundation of His throne.” When things get dark, God shows up, Isaiah 60:2 “For behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and deep darkness the people; But the Lord will arise over you, And His glory will be seen upon you.” Not only does God show up, He has blessings for us in the darkness, Isaiah 45:3 “I will give you the treasures of darkness And hidden riches of secret places, That you may know that I, the Lord, Who call you by your name, Am the God of Israel.” Somehow it is always darkest before the light.

Our God is a suddenly God. When the time is right, we will see Him move quickly! The Bible says on many occasions “this time tomorrow.”Elisha told the king’s servant this time tomorrow there will be an abundance of food in the middle of a famine. Moses told Pharoah before several of the plagues, “this time tomorrow.” Joshua 3:5' Then Joshua said to the people, “Consecrate yourselves, for tomorrow the Lord will do wonders among you.”” God does not need our Constitution or laws. Our fraudulent elections cannot stop God from being God. He does not need our timelines or solutions. He is God and when He intervenes it will only take one day. Just like Elisha told the kings messenger there would be an abundance of food in one day during famine, there will be restoration of the rightful President and all the evil will be exposed.

The great move of God may begin in great darkness or silence. If this happens, do not fall into fear. I love the hope and promise of Luke 21:25-28, the CJB “There will appear sings in the sun, moon, and stars, and on the earth, nations will be in anxiety and bewilderment at the sound and surge of the sea, as people faint with fear at the prospect of what is overtaking the world, for the powers in heaven will be shaken. And then they will see the son of Man coming in a cloud with tremendous power and glory. When these things start to happen, stand up and hold your heads high, because you are about to be liberated.” The nations are in great distress and many evil regimes are already toppling around the World. Germany has just elected what I would call a Christian Nationalist, a true believer who is very vocal about serving God and upholding Godly values. Youth are rising and fighting to topple their governments in the middle east. There have been three 7.0 earthquakes in the last week. The seas are surging with hurricanes, Fiona hit the Bermudas and went on up to do damage in Newfoundland. Ian hit Florida this week and the church prayed against the storm and the Category 5 Hurricane weakened to a Category 1 before it hit Orlando and another hurricane is forming in the Pacific around Mexico. I am not telling you this to bring fear! I am encouraging you that God is shaking everything that can be shaken, and He is fighting on our behalf. Luke 21:25 “Stand up and hold your head high you are about to liberated!” Spend extra time with God in His word and in prayer. Guard your heart and your mind, be intentional to what you are listening.

You have a decision to make, will you believe in God and His power to protect and deliver you or will you believe in the fake news with partial truth and propaganda. When Elisha prophesied to the king’s servant that there would be an abundance of food the next day, the servant replied, “Look. If the Lord would make a window in heaven, could this thing be?” He refused to believe the word of God. Elisha told him, “In fact, you shall see it with your eyes, but you shall not eat of it.” The next day when the people left the fortified city, they trampled the king’s servant and he died. Hebrews 3:12 “Beware brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief in departing from the living God.” Unbelief will keep us from experiencing the blessing of God, Hebrews 3:19 “So we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief.” A father took his son who threw himself in the fire and the water because he was demon possessed because the demon tried to destroy him, to Jesus for help in Mark 9. Jesus told the father, “If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.” The father quickly asked, “Lord I believe, help my unbelief.” If you are struggling with doubt and fear run to God and ask Him to help your unbelief.

Be encouraged, good things are happening, even if you do not see them yet or feel the victory. Job 12:22 “He uncovers deep things out of darkness and brings the shadow of death to light.” God is working in the darkness and is bringing the deep things that have been hidden from the American people for years. Stay in the Word, “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.” Psalms 119:105. When we seek Him, He will help us navigate the darkness. “When His lamp shone upon my head, and when by His light, I walked through the darkness.” Job 29:3.

David was always quick to encourage himself in the Lord and he wrote “Yeah though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me!” Resolve to believe God no matter what you see or hear. Isaiah 50:7 “For the Lord God will help me, therefore I will not be disgraced. Therefore, I have set my face like a flint, and I know I will not be ashamed.” God is moving on our behalf. He is with us and will take good care of us.
