Funeral services for Virginia Lois Stevens, 85, of Levelland, formerly of Morton, were held at 10 a.m. Saturday, October 8, in the Krestridge Funeral Home Chapel. Interment followed in the City of Levelland Cemetery, under the direction of Krestridge Funeral Home of Levelland. She passed away October 6,
2022. Lois was born, May 26, 1937, in a half dugout north of Morton, to Coy Onos and Mamie Durham and her sisters: Mary Ellen (Mur) Perry, Onita (Teenie) Boller and Alice Mae Brunson. All have preceded her in death.
Also preceding her in death were her husband, Raymond Alvis Stevens; and two grandchildren, Jared Jones and Natalie Gillie.
She married Raymond Alvis Stevens July 26, 1956, in Enochs, Texas.
They moved 15 miles southwest of Morton to begin their farming career.
They raised five children, Diana Zahn (Sheldon), Dale (Jeanie) Stevens, Doris (Danny)Miller, Darlene (Paul) Fillman and Darrell (Jolyn) Stevens.
She had nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
Lois and Alvis attended County Line Baptist Church north of Morton until its closure, then become active members of First Missionary Baptist Church in Morton.
In lieu of flowers, please sent donations to the First Missionary Baptist in her name.
