The Rotary Clubs of Levelland have made the decision to cancel this year’s Home for the Holidays Arts and Crafts Festival that was scheduled for Nov. 4-5 at the Mallet Event Center. A steady decline in vendors participating in the festival in recent years coupled with changes in shopping behaviors and habits brought about by the COVID-19pandemichaveaffected the popularity of the festival, according to the event’s organizers. “At this time, just one month prior to the event, the number of vendor applications we have received is less than half the number we received a year ago,” said Rick Osburn, festival coordinator. “This indicates the festival will be much smaller than last year’s and likely not profitable for many vendors, nor satisfying to shoppers or our sponsors. For these reasons we have decided to cancel the event.” Osburn said the planning committee is appreciative of the loyalty and participation of vendors, shoppers and festival sponsors over the past 11 years the festival has been held. “We are so thankful for the support that we have received for this project,” Osburn said. “It has helped fund many Rotary service projects that have benefitted our community.”
