Levelland Fire Report

Around 4:45 a.m. October 1, Fire crew were dispatched to Allsups located at 212 College Avenue in reference to a gasoline leak from underneath a gas pump. A search for the emergency shutoff was successful as management was unaware of the location of the shutoff. The breakers to the pumps were flipped as fire crew advised not to use pumps until the leak was fixed. Cat litter was placed on the gasoline and cones sectioned off the area. Around 11:11 p.m. September 30, the department received a report of a rollover at the 1500 block of 12th Street. Units were dispatched to the area to assist EMS and stay on scene until the wrecker was clear of the area. Upon arrival, EMS had removed the individual from the vehicle.

Around 3:31 p.m. September 30, a gas leak was reported in the 100 block of Alamo Road. Units were dispatched to the area; Fire crew initially plugged the leak while Atoms took over the scene and cleared the scene. Around 1:52 p.m. September 30, a gas leak was reported at the 200 block of 16th Street. Fire units were dispatched to the area while Atmos was on scene. The road was blocked until barricades were brought in.

Around 10:10 a.m. September 30, the department received a report of a gas leak located at 1875 N U.S. Highway 385. Fire Units responded to the report along with Atmos. It was determined that the homeowner would need to contact a private contractor. The scene was turned over to Atmos and the gas was shut off.

Around 9:20 p.m. September 29, the fire department received a call reporting an unknown fire type located at the 100 block of Veretto Road. Upon arrival, fire crew found a controlled burn that was not called in prior. The resident was informed that calling in before doing any controlled burns for authorization is necessary.

Around 4 p.m. September 29, the department received a report of a gas leak located at the 200 block of Hickory Street. Atmos requested units on standby until the scene was cleared.

Around 3 p.m. September 29, the fire department received a call reporting a fire alarm going off at the JV Morton dorms at South Plains College. While enroute, dispatch contacted the fire crew stating it was a false alarm.
