Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Sunday, October 23, at Brownfield Funeral Home.
Leland was born July 23, 1956, in Brownfield, to Bob and Zola Stewart.
He served in the United States Marine Corps and was a member of Brownfield Church of Christ.
Leland was a jack of all trades and loved working with his hands. He was a truck driver and roofer and particularly enjoyed working on engines.
He had an adventurous spirit and was known to do fearless things like hitchhiking across the country.
Leland, forever a Marine at heart, was meticulous in his routine and thrived on structure. No one in the family could make a bed as perfectly as he could.
He was a fun uncle who took the kids fishing and driving and helped cultivate their love of rock and roll.
Leland was a free spirit, a wild one who couldn't be tamed.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bob and Zola Stewart.
Leland is survived by his three sisters: Thresa Clavier, Sharon Whorton and Rhonda Robinstein and husband, Fred; brother, Neil Stewart and wife, Ella; lots of nieces and nephews, and his best friends, Ricky and Joyce Hill.
