Levelland Fire Department Report

10/18/2022 – DISPATCH 8:48 AM – CLEARED 9 AM – HOCKLEYCOUNTY

The department received a call about a fire in field located east of Highway 114 and east of the field house on the north side of the road. Upon arrival, units located a control burn on the south side of the road on Lakeview Rd. Units also located a control burn on the north side of the road on E Ellis. Both fires were under control.

10/18/2022 – DISPATCH 1:45 AM – CLEARED 2:33 AM – HOCKLEYCOUNTY

The department received a call from the Law Enforcement Center stating there was smoke inside a resident and they were unsure where it was coming from. Units responded to the 1200 block of Koala Rd. Upon arrival, the resident had shut off the main breaker as the majority of the heat was coming off the heater. Fire personnel had found a tripped breaker leading to the heater. After using a thermal camera to inspect the remainder of the residence, it was decided all the heat was radiating from the heater and there was no fire. The breaker to the heater remained off and the power to the residence was turned back on.

10/17/2022 – DISPATCH 8:38 AM – CLEARED 9 AM – LEVELLAND

The department received a call from the Law Enforcement Center stating there was a powerline sparking behind Subway. Units responded to the 1400 block of College Avenue. After reaching the scene and investigation, it was determined a delivery truck had pulled the service truck out of the back of the building with passengers still in the vehicle. Once Xcel arrived, the service was pulled, and the passengers were able to exit the vehicle.

10/13/2002 – DISPATCH 5:45 PM – CLEARED 6:30 PM – HOCKLEYCOUNTY

The department was requested to the 1800 block of N 385 to assist with scene cleanup. Highway cleanup was provided for DPS.
