Funeral services for Joe Don Phillips, 85, of Levelland, were held Monday, October 24, at 2 p.m. at Krestridge Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Eddie Trice officiating. Interment followed at the City of Levelland Cemetery. Joe Don passed into the loving arms of his Lord and Savior October 18, 2022, in Levelland. He was born in Waxahachie, Texas, November 20, 1936, to James Edward and Ernestine Phillips. He was the oldest of three children. Joe Don graduated from Whitharral High School in Whitharral, Texas, in 1954.
He married the love of his life, Zelma Harris, on September 15, 1957, in Enochs Baptist Church in Enochs, Texas.
He was a farmer and a truck driver most of his life. In his later years, he delivered buses and moved cars for a car rental company.
Joe Don was a beloved husband, dad, grandad and great grandad.
He loved Jesus, his wife, his family, his grandchildren, his great-grandchildren and fast cars.
Survivors include a sister, Tina and husband, Craig Swenson; sons, Greg and wife, Roxann, of Levelland, Keith and wife, Julie, of Plano and Brad and wife, Misty, of Lubbock; grandsons, Shawn and wife, Nicole, Cole and wife, Ally, and Dillon; granddaughters, Kayla, Nicole and husband, Justin, Niqui and Miranda; as well as great grandchildren: Titus, Kaylee, Ember and Jade. He was preceded in death by his wife, Zelma; his parents; and a brother, John Phillips.
