Funeral services for Charles Ray Henry, 71, formerly of Morton, will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, November 4, at the First Baptist Church in Morton, with Minister James “Bubba” Jones officiating and music provided by Margaret Golightly.
Internment will Morton Memorial Cemetery, under the direction of Head Duarte Funeral Home of Levelland.
Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. Thursday, November 3; family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Head Duarte Funeral Home Chapel.
Viewing will resume Friday, November 4, at 9 a.m. until time of service, at the First Baptist Church in Morton.
He passed away October 29, 2022 in Amarillo.
Charles was born September 21, 1951, to Ray and Ruth Louise H. Cobbs, in Robertson County, Texas.
He graduated with an associate’s degree from South Plains College and was inducted into the United States Army on June 30, 1971.
Charles was honorably discharged from Ft. Hood Killeen June 28, 1974.
He married Amy Annie Ruth Davis May 22, 1973, in Lampasas. They were blessed with one son from this union.
Charles worked for TI Transportation as a supervisor; City of Lubbock Civic Center, Reese Air force Base in maintenance and Lubbock State School, all for many years.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Charles is survived by his spouse of 49 years, Amy Annie Ruth Henry; and a son, Benjamin Charles Henry, both of Lubbock; sisters: Carolyn Cobbs Ross and Rayla Cobbs, both of Lubbock and Carolette Cobbs Brown of Dallas; three grandsons; and a host of nieces and nephews.
