Enviro Tech as guest speaker at Las Fidelas

The Las Fidelis Study Club recenly met in the Founder’s Room at South Plains College for its annual Thanksgiving luncheon.

In a short business meeting, members finalized plans for contributing to the Christmas for the people being served by Open Door, an organization that helps the homeless and victims of sex trafficking.

Plans were made to provide gift cards that will be given to mothers in order for them to be able to shop for their children’s Christmas. The plan also includes providing Crayola Crayons, Crayola play dough, coloring sheets featuring bees and the Protect the Pollinators information, and candy to be added to the Christmas gifts for the children being helped through Open Door.

After a short business meeting, the guest speaker was introduced. Jeff McEachern the Environmental Health and Safety Manager from Enviro Tech, an Arxada Company spoke to the club about this new business in Levelland.

Enviro Tech located in the Industrial Park of Levelland, Texas uses advanced manufacturing techniques to produce EPA registered biocides that will reduce chemical consumption and increase the viability of water reuse while relieving stress on water disposal wells.

The Levelland facility will eventually also manufacture FDAregistered no-rinse processing chemicals for use in the food and beverage industry to avoid contamination through direct food contact.

This plant’s strategic location will benefit the oil producing area around Levelland by offering a direct connection to the critical water recycling processes taking place in this oil producing area. This will result in fast shipping of quality chemicals to the companies requiring large amounts of water. The business is geared for expansion as they are now only using five of their thirty tanks.

Following the meeting, Stephanie McCall, Enviro Tech Office Manager, contacted the Las Fidelis Club saying that after Jeff McEachern relayed information about his very favorable visit to Las Fidelis, the business wanted to do something to support Las Fidelis and made a generous offer to purchase the 96 count boxes of Crayola Crayons for the club to put in the gift sacks for the children of Open Door.

Las Fidelis is very grateful and honored that this business wanted to support the club and help the children.

Kelly Buckner, LHS journalism teacher donated tubs of Crayola play dough to be added to the sacks for the Open Door children.

After the program, Jeff McEachern joined the Las Fidelis ladies for a Thanksgiving lunch prepared by the Great Western Dining of SPC.
