Grand jury returns December indictments

A Hockley County grand jury returned several indictments, of which 23 were made public from the office of the 286th Judicial District Court.

Don Leon Rodriguez, 23, was indicted for the fraudulent use, possession of identifying information under five items.

On or about the August 23, Rodriguez had the intent to harm or defraud another and without the consent of effective consent of the complainant, possessed less than five of identifying information of the complainant, namely two debit cards and an Arizona identification card.

Additionally, on or about August 23, the defendant intentionally and knowingly threatened the complainant with imminent bodily injury by chasing the complainant with a knife and/ or screwdriver while threatening to stab the complainant, and used or established a deadly weapon, namely a knife and/or screwdriver, during the commission of the assault.

Mario Ubaldo Melendes Jr., 31, was indicted for the theft of property between $2,500 and $30,000. Bond was set at $5,000.

On or about June 17, Melendes Jr., unlawfully appropriated by acquiring or otherwise exercising control over, property, namely copper of the value less than $20,000 from the owner, without the effective consent of the owner and with the intent to deprive the owner of the property.

Prior to the commission of the charged offense, on January 30, 2017, the defendant was convicted for the felony offense of possession of a controlled substance.

Also mentioned in the indictment is an additional felony charge January 14, 2019, for the possession of a controlled substance in the 286th District Court of Hockley County.

Benjamin Owen Bullock, 17, has been indicted for sexual assault with a child with a disability. The bond was set at $10,000.

On or about September 15, Bullock intentionally and knowingly caused penetration of the complainant, a disabled child, who was younger than 17 years of age, by the defendant’s sexual organ without the consent of the complainant.

Christopher Cole Castillo, 20, was charged with the aggravated assault of a date, family, house member with a deadly weapon and injury to a child, elderly, disabled with the intent of bodily injury.

On or about October 15, Castillo intentionally, knowingly, and recklessly caused bodily injury to an individual by shoving their head against the wall.

The defendant used or exhibited a deadly weapon, namely a knife during the commission of the assault, Additionally, Castillo intentionally and knowingly caused bodily injury to a child 14 years of age or younger by striking the child on the leg.

Jeremiah Lee Rodriguez, 21, was charged with the unauthorized use of a vehicle and the fraudulent use, possession of identifying information.

On or about, October 1, Rodriguez intentionally and knowingly operated a motorpropelled vehicle without the effective consent of the owner of the vehicle.

Also, on or about October 1, Rodriguez had the intent to harm or defraud another and without the effective consent complainant, possessed items of identifying information, namely name and debit card number.

Additionally, Rodriguez also had the intent to harm or defraud another, and without the consent or effective consent of an additional complainant, possessed the identifying information of the complainant, namely name and debit card number. The total number of items of identifying information was less than five.

Robert Sanchez, 54, was charged with the fraudulent use, possession of identifying information less than five items.

On or about July 8, the defendant had the intent to harm or defraud another without the consent or effective consent of the complainant. Sanchez possessed identifying information of the complainant, namely a Lone Star Debit Card account number in the name of the complainant.

The defendant also had the intent to harm or defraud another without the consent or effective consent of an additional complainant.

Sanchez possessed identifying information of the additional complainant, namely a Social Security Card identifying the social security number of the complainant.

Enhancements were included within the indictment.

On August 18, 2003, Sanchez was convicted for the felony offense of driving while intoxicated third or more.

Additionally, the defendant was convicted for the possession of a controlled substance, November 13, 2017.

Fernando Jesus Soto, 22, was charged with the unauthorized use of a vehicle and the fraudulent use, possession of identifying information.

On or about October 1, Soto intentionally and knowingly operated a motor-vehicle, namely an automobile with the effective consent of the complainant.

On or about October 1, Soto had the intent to harm or defraud another without the consent or effective consent of an additional complainant. The defendant possessed identifying information of the complainant, namely name and, or debit card number.

Additionally, the defendant had the intent to harm or defraud another without the consent or effective consent of an additional complainant. The defendant possessed identifying information of complainant, namely name and, or debit card number.

The total amount of items of identifying information was less than five.

Trey L. Ainsworth, 38, was charged with the owning a prohibited weapon.

On or about October 28, the defendant possessed a short barrel firearm, namely a sawed-off shotgun. The weapon was not registered in the National Firearms Registration and Transfer Record maintained by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives or not subject to that registration requirement.

Agapito Baeza Jr., 34, was charged with the unauthorized use of a vehicle. Bond was set at $15,000.

On or about July 26, the defendant intentionally and knowingly operated a motorvehicle, namely an automobile with the effective consent of the complainant.

Jennifer Marie Bush, 48, was charged with abandoning, endangering a child intentionally, knowingly, and recklessly with criminal negligence.

On or about July 4, the defendant had custody, care, or control of a child younger than 15 years.

The defendant intentionally abandoned the complaint in a place under circumstances that exposed the complainant to an unreasonable risk of harm under circumstances that a reasonable person would believe would place the child in imminent danger or death, bodily injury, physical or mental impairment namely by leaving the child at home with no supervision.

The defendant did not voluntarily deliver the child to a designed emergency infant care provided under he takes his family code.

Dominic Rahzel Chavez, 22, was indicted for the theft of property between $2,500 and $30,000. Bond was set at $7,500.

On or about June 17, Melendes Jr., unlawfully appropriated by acquiring or otherwise exercising control over, property, namely copper of the value less than $20,000 from the owner, without the effective consent of the owner and with the intent to deprive the owner of the property.

Jonathan Colon, 36, was charged with the possession of a controlled substance penalty group one under one gram. Bond was set at $5,000.

On or about August 20, the defendant intentionally and knowingly possessed a controlled substance, namely methamphetamine, in the amount less than one gram.

Enhancements included in the indictment state the defendant was convicted of the felony offense of possession of a controlled substance, less than one gram, June 5, 2020.

Additionally, the defendant was convicted for the felony offense of evading arrest or detention with a motor vehicle with a previous conviction, June 28, 2018.

Ethan Gilbert Lee Farias, 17, has been charged with impersonating a public servant. Bond was set at $1,000.

On or about August 5, Farias impersonated a peace officer with the intent to induce an individual to submit to the pretended official authority of the defendant or to rely on the pretended official acts of the defendant by operating his person vehicle equipped with red and blue emergency lights to induce the individual to stop his vehicle by positioning the defendant’s vehicle behind the individual’s vehicle and then activating red and blue lights from the personal vehicle of the defendant.

Dustin Ryan Fisher, 32, has been charged with the possession of a controlled substance penalty group one, between one and four grams.

On or about October 17, Fisher intentionally and knowingly possessed a controlled substance, namely methamphetamine, in an amount of one gram or more but less than four grams.

Bobby Joe Gonzales, 35, was charged with the unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon. Gonzales bail was set at $15,000.

On or about September 26, before the presentment of the indictment, having been convicted for the felony offense of unlawful possession of a fire arm on October 15, 2015, intentionally, knowingly and recklessly possessed a fire arm before the fifth anniversary of the defendant’s release from supervision under parole and/or mandatory supervision following conviction of the felony.

An enhancement in the indictment stated prior to the commission of the charged offense on October 12, 2011, the defendant was convicted of the felony offense burglary of a habitation.

Kristien Kaide Rawlings, 25, was charged with the manufacturing. delivery of a controlled substance penalty group two between four grams and 400 grams.

On or about December 21, 2021, the defendant did then and there knowingly deliver, by actual transfer, to a confidential informant, a controlled substance, namely tetrahydricannabinol in an amount of four grams or more but less than 400 grams.

Joshua Marroquin, 26, was charged with engaging in organized criminal activity.

On or about August 30, the defendant had the intent to establish, maintain, or participate in a combination or in the profits of a combination of the defendant, Adam Bautista and Adrianna Olivares, who collaborated in carrying on criminal activity, intentionally and knowingly commit the offense of theft of property of more than $750 but less than $2,500.

Adrianna Tomasa Olivares, 25, was charged with engaging in organized criminal activity, with bond being set at $2,000.

On or about August 30, the defendant had the intent to establish, maintain, or participate in a combination or in the profits of a combination of the defendant, Adam Bautista and Joshua Marroquin, who collaborated in carrying on criminal activity, intentionally and knowingly commit the offense of theft of property of more than $750 but less than $2,500.

Maria Guadalupe Lucero, 38, was charged with the unauthorized use of a vehicle, with bond being set at $7,500.

On or about September 11, the defendant knowingly and intentionally operated a motor vehicle without the effective consent of the complainant.

Joe David Flores Jr., 52, was charged with assault of a family, household member with a previous conviction.

On or about April 10, the defendant intentionally, knowingly and recklessly caused bodily injury to a member of the defendant’s household or a person with whom the defendant has or has had a dating relationship.

As described, the defendant struck the individual with a hard object, and the defendant used or exhibited a deadly weapon, namely a bottle and, or glass, during the assault.

Before the commission of the assault, the defendant had been convicted on November 11, 2005, for the offense under the Texas Penal Code against a member of the defendant’s family.

Enhancements within the indictment state the defendant had been convicted for the possession of a controlled substance or dangerous drugs, April 30, 1991 and convicted November 11, 2005 for the felony offense of engaging in organized crime.

Blake Scott Zamora, 32, was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

On or about May 8, the defendant intentionally and knowingly threatened a complainant with imminent bodily injury by swinging a knife at the complainant and, or brandishing a knife at the complainant.

Jaydin Timothy Santos, 18, was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

On or about August 4, the defendant intentionally and knowingly caused bodily injury to an individual by stabbing him.
