Loboettes cruise at home

The Levelland Loboettes, ranked sixth in UIL Class 4A by the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches, dismantled the visiting Lake View Maidens 72-18 in district 5-4A high school girls’ basketball action last Friday.

Levelland went on a 19-3 run over the first 5 ½ minutes on their way to a 21-6 first quarter.

The Loboettes hit nine three point shots on the night. Leilani Sanchez hit four, Laci White and Emery Smith hit two each and Angelica Gonzales had one.

The next three quarters were much the same. Levelland led 3910 at half-time and 51-15 at the end of the third quarter.

Every Loboette took part in the scoring.

Sanchez led all scorers with 20 points. Smith had 12. Destynii Jones had 10. White had eight. Carly Tienda had five points. Ellie Phillips and Gonzales had four each. Mia Morin had three. Andrenna Galvan, Olivia Velardez and Madison Stafford had two each.

The Loboettes will be in Snyder on Friday for a 6:15 p.m. game.
