Smyer sets special meeting for Monday

The Smyer Board of Alderman will be holding a special meeting Monday, January 30, at the Smyer Senior Citizens’ Center.

The group will waive the reading of the minutes of the regular meeting and begin with public comment on non-agenda items if there are any.

The board will hold a public hearing on the Texas Community Development Block Grant program with the Texas Department of Agriculture application.

Following the hearing, there will be a water, wastewater update and a report on facilities.

There will be necessary action in regard to building permit applications.

The board will approve the annual report that includes capital improvement and comprehensive plan.

The fiscal year report for between October 1, 2021 through September 30, 2022 will be approved.

The board will approve the destruction of records under the records control schedule, City Ordinance 101.

Necessary action will be taken on the interlocal agreement with Hockley County for street maintenance and fire service.

The board will also be adopting the South Plains Regional Mutual Aid Agreement.

The group will end the meeting with an executive session to discuss personal matters.
