MainStreet continues facade grant sign-ups

The Levelland Main Street program is once again opening their Downtown Facade Improvement Grant Program through March 1st.

Businesses located within the downtown area are encouraged to apply for the grant.

For the downtown district, financial assistance is available to businesses and property owners who wish to make physical improvements to their building exterior.

The program requires that the business is located in the downtown district.

The grant is a one to one matching type grant and is up to $2,000 reimbursement.

Additionally, the funds must be used for sign age, awnings, storefront, restoration, windows, doors, paint and more.

Building owners and tenants are eligible.

The Façade Grant, which helps the downtown merchants renovate the front of their buildings, such as awnings, has been very popular in the past three years since its inception.

With five applicants in 2020, and an additional six in 2021, many different shops have benefitted from the grant, and Main Street Manager Tania Moody only expects that interest to grow.

When an application is received it goes before the Main Street Advisory Board, then makes its way to City Council for approval.
