The Roughettes traveled to Seagraves Friday night and returned with a 64-15 win over the Lady Eagles.
The Roughettes started hot with a 22 point first quarter led by a pair of three pointers from Emma Holdman and five points each from Allie McCormick and Kaydence Loftin.
The defense shut out Seagraves completely for a 22-0 first quarter lead.
The offense slowed in the second scoring 13 points, while allowing seven to the Lady Eagles for a 35-7 halftime score.
The offense picked up again in the third period with balanced scoring from eight different Roughettes while holding the Lady Eagles to only four points.
The fourth quarter started with Sundown leading 55-11 and ended 64-15.
Holdman led all scorers with 13 points followed closely by McCormick’s 11 and Loftin’s 10.
The Roughettes (22-8) closed out the regular season at home against the Tahoka Lady Bulldogs (14-16) looking to keep their second place position in district.
The Roughnecks traveled to Seagraves Friday and defeated the Eagles in a hard fought 53-49 victory to move up to third place in the district standings.
Sundown took a 13-11 lead in a back-and-forth quarter led by five points from Jayson Martinez.
Seagraves turned the tables in the second quarter outscoring Sundown 13-11 to send the game into the half tied at 24.
Sundown countered in the third with 13 points. Watson Evans four points led the way for the Roughnecks.
The defense clamped down on Seagraves in the third limiting them to eight points for a 37-32 score to end the quarter.
Seagraves rallied in the fourth to the tune of 16 points, but Sundown held up with 15 points of their own with even scoring across the squad and took the 5349 victory.
Watson Evans and Alex Bocanegra led the Roughnecks with 13 points apiece, followed by 10 from Jaryn Flores who went 8-8 from the free-throw line.
The Roughnecks will host the Tahoka Bulldogs in Sundown and look to avenge the four point loss from earlier this season.
