One resident deceased upon welfare check

According to Levelland Police and Fire reports, first responders conducted a welfare check at the University Square Apartments in reference to a welfare check, that resulted in finding a deceased resident.

Around 8:37 p.m. Friday, February 10, multiple officers attempted to conduct a welfare check.

Unable to gain entry into the residence, fire personnel were requested to conduct a forceable entry.

Reports state the reporting party advised that the resident had not been seen or contracted in roughly one week.

Upon arrival, fire personnel attempted to gain access to the residence using a k-tool but were unsuccessful.

A hydraulic ram was then used to gain access to the residence by spreading the frame from the deadbolt lock.

It was at that point the officers conducting the welfare check located the deceased resident.
