The Ropes Eagles scored two runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to down the visiting New Home Leopards 3-1 in UIL District 4-2A high school baseball.
New Home, ranked 15 th in Class 2A by MaxPreps, went up 1-0 in the first inning and held the lead until the bottom of the fifth when Branson Beck hit a two out single that brought Mason Marmolejo home.
Garret Gilliam hit a single with the bases loaded and no outs in the bottom of the sixth inning to take the lead.
Hunter Torres got the allowing one run on two hits with 12 strikeouts and three walks. Bode Franklin closed out the seventh, allowing only one hit.
Marmolejo had a run and two hits. Beck had a hit and an RBI. Braxxin Partington had a run and a hit.
Kade Franklin had a run and two hits. Gilliam had a hit and an RBI. Brady Bryan had an RBI.
The Eagles will be in Smyer on Tuesday at 4 p.m.
