The New Home Leopards downed the Sundown Roughnecks 13-3 in a UIL District 4-2A home baseball game last Saturday.
Mason Turnbow took the win, allowing all three runs on two hits with four strikeouts and three walks over 2 2/3 innings.
Brazos Beck gave up two hits and struck out seven with no walks in 4 1/3 innings of relief work. Jaxon Rodrigues was the losing pitcher. He gave up 12 hits and nine runs with three walks and no strikeouts over five innings. Koy Torres finished the game, giving up four runs on six hits with a walk and no strikeouts.
Sundown never led. The Leopards jumped out to a 3-0 lead after the first and led 5-0 going into the bottom of the third inning, where all three of Sundown’s runs came.
Jaryn Flores had a run, a hit and a walk. Torres had a hit. Jeffrey Rodriguez had a run and a walk. Isaac Lopez had a hit. Jayson Martinez had a hit. Hunter Clark had a run and a walk.
